Fantastic... faster then light!

Thanks again!

Will CDRinfo make a test of this burner with the new firmware??? E.g., writing quality, 4x DL writing... and so on.
I'm sure a lot of people would like to see it!

Bye!

This new firmware solved all issues I described the past few days, and it even burned a dirty-cheap media DVD flawlessly. Very nice thing ;)

I tried all avaible firmware versions, plus all BENQ firmwares.
it can only write at 4x speed
benq qscan shows OK for this media
however, I had 10 fail-burn medias at moment.
I never succeed to writing on it.

my old asus (pioneer clone) 4x dvd writer writes ok to princo at 1x,2x,4x speeds.
I should bought NEC3500A at the first place.. But 50$ for 16x Dual writer was way too cheap, so I bought philips black.

Firmware 3.0 is same old ****.. Argh!

Princo?

I totaly agree with adarkar, better go for other brands.

Since no firmware worked with those media, you can easily understand their quality.

I have updated to the new 3.0 firmware.... but after then, it can't rip / detect my dvd-r writed by my former Toshiba anymore......

A really strange behavior ... I thought my *new* drive was faulty, and since I have 2 weeks of "bring-it-back-and-exchange" time (well, just 3 days left actually) I was going to remove it and bring it to the store...

Then I re-flashed the original firmware version, 2.2 ... it works again... strange...

Opinions welcomed (still 3 days left....)

I forgot... it did not read the ID code on the burned dvd-r 's .....
