is it possible that I can overclock my 4x hp burner at all, Like to make it burn at 12x or faster? or is it just to old and the laser won't go fast no matter what

If it's an 8250i and actually runs at 32x4x4 instead of 24x4x4, then you MAY have a possibility.

This is dependent on model variant - not all HP xxxx drives carry the same internals, so identification of the appropriate variant is CRUCIAL!
