Forgive my ignorance, but can anyone tell me what PIE and PIF stand for? It’s my understanding that PIE tells how much error correction is occurring and PIF tells error correction failures, but I’m not sure what the letters actually stand for.

Thanks for any help in straightening out my understanding, enlightening me, or pointing me in some direction to find out more information on this or the subject of DVD QC in general.

Thanks

PIE: Parity Inner Errors (number of inner parity errors)

PIF: Parity Inner Fail (the number of uncorrectable PI errors)

PIE should be below 280 while PIF zero.
