Can burn everything but MP3s why?

basically with the ever growing trend of getting CDs in MP3 format i had to join in...

here is the story ...

I went out and bought a Artec DVD/CD-RW external USB 2.0 and 1.1 compatible

this is plugged into a USB 2.0 1.1 compatiable HUB because the mouse on my laptop is broken and i am also using a USB mouse since its the PS2 connector thats faulty

and the hub is plugged into a Dell laptop's USB 1.1 socket

At this stage i am using Windows 2000

So i installed Nero 5.5 express that came with the Drive

but it gets the following error

"Could not End the Session"

someone suggested that maybe its the software playing up ...

^^^ another fact that might help is

NERO fails to burn the MP3s either when converting to audio cd format OR trying to write them as a MP3

with a success rate of 1 out of 8 MP3 converted albums

but the one that worked when i do it again it says the same error as above

however it burns data no problem

So i tried Easy CD creator 6

and it starts the burning process then stops saying

Couldn't flush something something

but it wrote the one track and it works so i figured it must be the MP3s but they play fine no problem ...

in desperation someone suggests upgrading to Windows XP and the CD-rom says on the box designed for windows XP

so i use Windows XP with Nero but produces the same error
So i use Windows XP and Windows Media player which kinda blows my MP3s not being right theory as it does all the converting first but then it tries doing the CD and it throws the error "Could Not Write to CD"

None of my friends seem to have this problem any suggestions?????
