I recently purchased a 100 cd spool of supposedly 90 minute CDR's from Allmediaoutlet.com and have not been able to burn past 83 minutes on a Samsung SW-232B and a Yamaha 8424S. Tried just overburning with both burners and it was a no go, tried using Nero's CD SPEED Overburning test and both burners reported not being able to go past 83 minutes. My question is: Is there a way to find out based off of the media ID exactly how much space there is on these cd's? I'm wondering if I just got screwed by the retailer, don't know what i'm doing or if they accidently sent me the wrong cdr's.

On the inside edge of the cd is a number that reads:
"RJD80M-50009 80" and another that reads
"J304JS201167780A20N 80"

Any help would be most appreciated, thanks in advance..

Oh..
Here's the info on the drive/media from inside of CD SPEED:

I'm afraid you got screwed.
83min seems about right for normal 80min discs.
Usually the media ID (=start of Lead In) of 90/99min CD-R's starts with 96 instead of 97.
I have some Ritek 99min CD-R's and they show 80++ on the inside edge of the disc.
