I am using nero 5578 with a Ricoh MP7200A and when ripping wave files to mp3 I get poping and crackling on some tracks.
I also have the option of ripping in MP3Pro format and am not sure which is best. I normally rip upto 192bit rate.
Are there specific settings I should be using to get rid of the flaws?

This problem occurs possible from your drive. Try upgrade to latest firmware and reduce reading speed (when using Nero for ripping CD)
