Can't upgrade firmware on Samsung TS-H552B/WBCH

I donwloaded the sfdnwin program and the TS-H552B_TS06 and TS07.
Neither firmware work.
It gets half way and then errors out.
The green bar movs to the right, but right about 40-50%
The error I receive is
Message
Download Failed!
Restart WINDOWS


And trust me, I have rebooted a dozen of times.
I try it again, and it shows up as TS07 as older version, but I can't get the drive to burn anymore.
It's sort of in a mixed firmware status in between TS05 and TS07.

I've tried even putting the old version back on and receive the same thing.

Any suggestions?

hmm, how about trying at a different system to flash your drive? are you using maybe win9x?

Im on Win XP Pro with SP2.

I don't know what else to do.
What are some other programs to use to upgrade the firmware?

I tried the version 8 also, and still no good.

Even tried downloading the dos version and running todays upgrade, and it errors out stating can not open file.

So I am about at the point to return it and buy a different brand.

After digging through forums, it seems this particular drive is a pain in the %^&!

I'm so determined to get this to work though.
