Hi everyone

Does anyone know if DVD-R or DVD-RW media in general costs less on average than DVD-R+ and DVD RW+ ? And will it be possible to use double sided media to write in DVD-R and DVD-RW mode with the LG GMA 4020 B ? I suppose that if it is possible then 9.4GB can be recorded instead of 4.7GB. Please share your knowledge with me. I appreciate it very much.

DVD-R is cheaper as DVD+R at least for now. In holland this will change soon since there is a higher tax on the dvd-r format.
DVD+RW is cheaper as DVD-RW however the difference is very small.
Double sided media from verbatim should be able to work with the LG GMA 4020B. This media is actually 2 Verbatim (mitsubishi) glued against each other.

Thanks so much for your help. Just one more question. So, if I use double sided DVD-RW I should be able to record 9.4GB is that correct? And is there double sided DVD-RW??

yes, with double sided media you can record 9.4GB, but remember, you can't label them [B)]

as for double sided DVD-RWs? I don't think so.

The proces of double sided dvd-rw was put on hold.
By the way why use double sided media[?]. There just 2 normal disc's glued against each other. 2 normal dvd-r of good quality are much cheaper as one double sided.

Aren't DVD-RWs thicker then DVD-Rs...I would think that if you glued 2 DVD-RWs together they would be a little too thick to work in a drive properly [:I]

It is possible to make 2 layer dvd-rw's. However production is much harder as 2 layer dvd-r's. And it is expected that it will be a failure of to high costs. 2 DVD-RW's are much cheaper.
