Hope someone can help here, I used to be able to copy on the fly in Nero perfectly with Nero 5 and Win98 with my NEC 2500.

I have recently upgraded to XP Pro service pack2, Nero 6603 & a NEC 3500a and now find that I can't copy on the fly anymore and get error "can't copy to this disc"

Also reading in on the NEC to an image (4 mins - reads too fast?) then writing out also makes a coster.

Using Shrink to read in and Nero to write out is fine, but I miss the speed of Disc 2 Disc on the fly.

I have seen a number of people with exactly the same problems and no solutions yet? any help on offer?

Other links to same problems:

Any help much appreciate (I've not got much hair left!)

You mentioned everything except what you are trying to copy on the fly. Music, and DVD Video is "not recommended" for copy on the fly.

Also, I deleted your duplicate posts. Please review the rules. This makes problems for us and you when you post duplicate posts.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry I had thought when I spoke of DVD Shrink it would be assumed as video, but I have found the answer after finding loads more recent posts from people in the same boat using the new Nero, so deff a fault with the new Nero, and I have proven my system is sound by doing on the fly in Alcohol 120% with no problems.

I know on the fly might not be recommended but it always works for me 99%, maybe im just lucky.

Generally "on the fly" copying is not safe. There are many cases, no matter what the burning application was, that a problem, at least buffer underrun, occured.

Personaly I avoid it.
