Hello!
I ripped a movie from a dvd+rw disc (intenso) using NEC ND2510A
with official fw. 2.16.
I've heared about the riplock that this drive has with official fw's
but in dvd decrypter ripping process started at 3.4X and ended at 6.7X.

Here is the report from dvd decrypter:

Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:10:41
Average Read Rate: 7.131 KB/s (5.1x) - Maximum Read Rate: 9.331 KB/s (6.7x).

So I was wandering why my drive reached that speed using the official fw 2.16?
Could it be that NEC has removed the riplock in this firmware?

Not really, with riplock removed, the CSS DVD-Video ripping speeds should reach up to 12X

Thank's emperor, but still 6.7X is far from the 2X that it's supposed to rip??

No it didn't supposed to rip at 2X but at 3~6X CAV, thjnk so

Oh, well that's ok then. I belive that 6X still is good and protects the drive too. Besides, the 2510 is not
the best reader out there and faster speeds wouldn't help the situation.
