Hey guys,
total newb question lol.
Its my understanding a normal dvd is dual layer, the disks readily available
for backups are single layer right.
Is it possible to backup a dvd movie? Im guessing things will have to be ripped
like maybe language tracks or special features correct? Does software already
do this or does it have to be manual. These are for my own store bought dvds,
not illegal or anything like that.

sorry for this totally newb question, since im soo lost i cant even do a proper search
in google because what i enter just gives me a bunch of ads.

thanks!

nevermind I suck.
I see there looks to be a great program called DVD Shrink.
Anyone know how long it would take to compress?

Similar to my specs: Athlon XP 1500, SDRAM 512MB, 7200rpm HDD

Well, I guess it might take you about 30~40 mins to compress a 8GB DVD-9 to a 4.7GB size.

As for mine, it takes me about 40~50 mins. Some film has almost 8.5GB size and then will take me 60 mins to complete the compression.
