i have a dreamcast and i was wondering if it would be possible to copy its games. i tried to copy 'msr', but the main thing that i found strange was that it only appeared to be 14mb, which is surely wrong. using clonecd, or even other software available, is it possible to make a perfect copy of any dreamcast game using a normal cdr disks that can be played on a dreamcast ( i heard that dreamcasts don't need to be modified to play copied games ). i would appreciate any help. thanks a lot

Hi, Good news and bad news, it is possible to backup an already backed-up game but it is more complicated to backup an original. I am lead to believe in order to produce a working copy of an original rom you need to use some sort of link cable and connect it to your dreamcast and to your pc.Also dreamcast roms are on Giga disc’s basically it’s a bigger rom but the games rarely fill the disc so the game producers fill the unused free space with crap…? When using a link cable you are able to remove this unnecessary crap and produce a backup that will fit onto a standard 80min rom.Once burned onto a standard rom it is then possible to do a standard cd to cd copy, the best program I find to do this is Diskjuggler (produced by Padus).most of the backups these days are selfbooting (just insert into your dreamcast and it will run),but you also require a BootCD for the games that aren’t selfbooting (insert the BootCD wait for the prompt remove the bootcd and then insert the backup and away it goes)….? Hope this info is of some help to you ….
Good Luck…..
