hello im new and young(13) i need some help i have a 1999 gate way desk top (G6-4500) its ok and ive done some modifications(new mother bord III ,ATI all in wonder 128 graphics card tv and all ,3 256MB RAM cards,windows XP pro and some looks neon yah like i said its ok) but i got a cd-r/rw dvd-r/rw and i already have a cd reader. i hooked it all up but when i went to go try it out for a spin my comp wouldnt even reconize it ive tryed just about everthing (when i unhook the cd reader that my comp came with it reconized my new one)i dont know what to do help please thanks sooo much

thanks for "all" the help but i figuerd it out on my own well ok heres how i went about it, the comp first came with a toshiba dvd reader witch the comp would alway reconize as the master, and i got another cd reader along time ago with drivers and that was all hooked up but truly i didnt need it i nedded a cd burner so i bought it and the reason it wouldnt work together with the toshiba one was it didnt come with drivers so my comp didnt reconize it cuz my comp just goes strait to readin the toshiba one "master" and didnt check for another cd reader or burnerl. i just took the cd reader that i installed along time ago and i hooked my new cd burner and the old hp one up it all works fine now
