I've been backing up my CD-collection with Blindwrite. There have not been any problems and all the backups work fine - not any errors. No matter what CD or DVD-player I use for playing, everything works.

But how accurate is this process? If Blindwrite claims that the image creation and burning process have been successfull, does this necessarily mean that the backup was successfull? I mean, is it possible that there are indeed errors in the backup that may not be audible and are there any tools to detect those errors that exist, but cannot be heard?

indeed you can't know, because it becomes all about quality. a media can be unreadable after a while or scratches, and some dvd readers can have problems.
Blindwrite extracts the cd or dvd with the deepest hardware information and burn as much information possible, to do the closest copy possible.

To verify the quality of the burnt media, you can use VSO Inspecter (freeware downloadable at www.vso-software.fr) to check the burnt either sector by sector or file by file.

You can always write to VSO Software directly with your questions and they will be pleased to answer you the best they can;)
