hi. im new to the forum, and i just want to ask something.

i have an athlon64 3000+ on msi k8n neo platinum nforce3 mobo with 2 pioneer dvr109. ive been having problems with nero when i had winxp and now that i've just installed winxp x64 using nero6.6.0.1.5

i've narrowed down my problem to the aspi layer. initially i just had the nero aspi installed and nothing else, but everytime i burn, i check nero tool kit, and the aspi rolls back to the system aspi which hasn't been installed.  

next ive installed the adaptec aspi and it doesnt work, it keeps burning toasters.  now ive installed x64 and the adaptec aspi wont even work there. so im stuck with the nero aspi. but again everytime i burn it rolls back to the system aspi.

any ideas? its just too much work to run info toolkit and bring back the aspi to nero every time i burn.

Install ASPI 4.60, and if there are newest drivers for your NFprce3 get them.

i just downloaded aspi 4.6. after installing i ran aspichk and i got this . . .

aspi is properly installed but one of the helper drivers has failed to initialize 0xe3

i checked the aspi on nero toolkit and on system aspi it said ASPI files are missing, instead of 4 files showing up there, i see only one.

and nero is still as problematic as before.

any ideas? thanks for the help though  :)

Yes, download this version here, FOLLOW the instructions, there are no files missing.

same result. ran aspi.bat then aspi32.exe rebooted, then ran aspicheck.

im starting to think that maybe there's a problem with one of my hardware?

You're getting the same failed to initialize?  If so, you did not follow the instructions.  Perhaps you have a different error now?  The link I sent you will install ASPI 100 Percent, but you "must" follow the instructions exactally as written, or it will fail.

Also, I'm not sure with WinXP 64, it could be a problem with it, although I have not read any similar posts, to which you are experienceing with XP 64.

Ayone running XP64 know anything about this problem?  I can't find anything on it on any newsnets.
