Samsung To Unveil New OLED Tablets In NY Event

Samsung Electronics will unveil its new colorful Galaxy Tab OLED tablets at an event that will be held in New York's Madison Square Garden on June 12.

The S. Korean giant is expected to release two new Android-based, colorful tablets equipped with 8.4 and 10.5 inches OLED screens.

Besides the OLED displays made by Samsung Display the new tablets will feature fingerprint sensors.

Samsung is in already in talks with major U.S. mobile carriers including T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless to narrow terms of details about promotional campaigns and guaranteed shipment for sale.

Seperately, the company plans to hold a press conference in New York about its updated mobile business strategies on June 10.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education Now Available

In related news, Samsung has made available the new Galaxy Tab 4 Education – its first tablet specifically designed to support scalable 1:1 computing initiatives in K-12 schools.
The rugged 10.1-inch tablet integrates with Google Play for Education and can be managed via a web-based console.Educators can access to a teacher-approved apps, books and videos.

For districts seeking to scale up 1:1 initiatives, a web-based console – available from Google for $30 per device for school districts – enables IT administrators to manage and update the fleet of devices. The Galaxy Tab 4 Education also includes Near Field Communications (NFC) technology.

Additionally, the tablet will be compatible with a future upgrade to Samsung School, its interactive classroom management solution that combines with classroom displays and other technology.

 

The device is bundled with a protective case and features Corning Gorilla Glass. Its 10.1-inch WXGA display (1280x800) has a 16:10 aspect ratio. Students can do more at once with Samsung’s MultiWindow feature that allows user to have two apps open side-by-side. The device features the latest version of Android (version 4.4 or Kit Kat), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n support and rear- and front-facing cameras.

The Galaxy Tab 4 Education comes standard with 16GB memory, with a MicroSD Card Slot for up to 64GB of additional storage. Optional accessories include a connected USB keyboard, AllShare Cast for wireless mirroring of content to displays, and charge carts for easy classroom storage.
