Trade Your Used Video Games At Walmart

Walmart will soon start accepting your old video games and in return, you'll get eGift cards for anything from groceries to gadgets.

Starting next week, you'll be able to get a trade-in amount for your video games immediately toward the purchase of anything sold at Walmart and Sam?s Club, both in stores and online.

Walmart already has the second-largest market share in the video game industry, and with more than 110 million gamers in the U.S., and the company sees a potential in the $2 billion pre-owned video game business opportunity.

"Our strategy is to pay more for used games, sell new and used games for less, and give our customers the flexibility to spend their money how they want," said Justin Williamson, director of Entertainment for Walmart U.S.

And starting this summer, you will be able to purchase "Certified Pre-Owned" video games in Walmart stores and on Walmart.com.

Trade-in for Wii, Xbox, PS4 and other games starts today for Walmart associates and trade-in begins March 26 for Walmart's customers at more than 3,100 stores nationwide.

Retailers such as Best Buy Co, Target Corp and GameStop Corp also offer trade-in programs for used videogames.
