Sony Issues PS4 Troubleshooting Guide

Following complaints from consumers who have been experiencing problems with their brand new PlayStation 4, Sony has published a troubleshooting guide online.

Some PS4 show their PS4 units blinking blue and not entering the powered on state indicated by a white light as it was expected in order to operate normally.

Some of the the symptoms associated with blinking blue lights also include no video/audio output to televisionor console powering off after blinking blue.

Sony said this could be triggered by various issues, including a problem with the PS4's power supply, hard drive or hardware or TV compatibility.

In most cases, Sony suggests users should power off their PS4, disconnect the plug of the AC power cord from the electrical outlet and restart it. Users should also check specific parts of their PS4 for conspicuous damage or anomalies. These parts include the AC IN connector; HDMI OUT port; HDMI input port; HDMI cable and; AC power cord. Users should also inspect the harddrive inside the device to make sure it is properly seated in the HDD bay. Finally, if the hard drive and power supply appear in good shape, users can try to booting their PS4 into Safe Mode and update the system's software or restore the default settings - a pretty much PC-like procedure.

The company said the number of systems affected by the issue represented less than 0.4% of units shipped to date.

The bad news is that even if your PS4 was shipped faulty and need to be replaced, Sony says the new units won?t be available until January or February.

Sony has annoounced that its latest gaming console. sold more than one million units within 24 hours of its US launch.
