Facebook has updated its iPhone and iPad applications to let
people keep using its chat feature even when thay are doing
stuff on Facebook, like checking their News Feed.
Facebook is also bringing features from its new Home software for Android-powered smartphones to Apple's iPhones. The first Home feature to arrive on iPhones will be "chat heads" that let message exchanges with friends follow people as they navigate the social network. It's called chat heads because friends' profile photos pop up when they send you a message.
Users will also
tap the smiley to add stickers to their messages. Many
different stickers are available in the Sticker Store.
The company is also rolling out improvements to News Feed it
had announced in March. The biggest change is on iPad, where
you'll see brighter, more beautiful stories.
This update to Facebook for iOS will be available later
today in the App Store. Chat heads and stickers on the
Facebook app for iPhone will roll out fully over the next
few weeks.
