Dell Introduces New XPS 18 all-in-one

Dell has introduced the XPS 18 PC, a 18-inch all-in-one PC that can double as a supersized tablet.

The $899 XPS 18 runs Windows 8 and weighs 2.2 kilograms. When detached from a power outlet, the device is powered by a battery (tablet mode) and provides up to five hours of run time on a single battery charge.

The device's touchscreen can display images at a high-definition resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The XPS 18 is priced starting at $899. It can be powered by Intel Pentium or Core i3, i5 or i7 processors. Other features include a 720p webcam, memory card reader, Wi-Fi, two USB 3.0 ports and Bluetooth 4.0. It can be configured with a 500GB hard-drive a 512GB SSD.

Sony claims that compared to other machines like Sony?s Tap 20, the XPS 18 is over 6 pounds lighter and nearly double the battery life. In terms of hardware, the XPS 18 is built on Intel?s third-generation core processors, and the capacitive touch display means you can take advantage of all the touch capabilities that Windows 8 offers.

Asus last week also introduced the large, 18.4-inch Transformer AiO, which can run either Android or Windows 8.
