Following
yesterday news about the approval of iPhone 5 from China's Telecommunications Equipment and Certification Center (TENAA,) Apple today confirmed that its latest iPad models will go on sale in China on Dec. 7, followed by the iPhone 5 a week later.
China is one of Apple's largest and fastest-growing markets.
Apple's previous iPhone model, the iPhone 4S, was relatively slow in China, as its voice-recognition-powered virtual assistant Siri feature did not understand Mandarin Chinese. This has changed with iPhone 5, meaning that Chinese may be encouraged to upgrades to the new model.
