Japan Display to Start Mass Production of 5-inch Full-HD LCD Modules

Japan Display Inc. (JDI) will start mass-production of 5.0-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) TFT-LCD modules for smartphone applications this October.

JDI's LCD modules are based on technologies including low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) for high resolution, in-plane switching (IPS) for wide viewing angle performance, and thinner backlight design for compact size, among others.

JDI will demonstrate this product at FPD International 2012, held October 31 through November 2, 2012, in Yokohama, Japan.
