Message Text: Dell today announced a redesigned mobile thin client portfolio for those who need to be on the move, but also require data to be protected against advanced persistent threats.

The two new mobile thin clients feature a durable chassis. Based on Windows Embedded Standard 7 64-bit for a familiar local Windows experience, the devices include Intel dual core processors with integrated graphics, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and an extended battery life. Both mobile thin clients offer a wide range of connectivity options and ports including USB 3.0, HDMI, gigabit Ethernet, and WLAN and Bluetooth options.

The Dell Latitude E7270 mobile thin client is starting at only 2.77 pounds with a 4-cell battery and with an Intel 6th Generation Core i5 processor. It comes with a 12.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) anti-glare display.

The Latitude 3460 mobile thin client offers high performance with an Intel Celeron 3215U processor and a 14-inch HD (1366 x 768) anti-glare display.

The Latitude E7270 and Latitude 3460 mobile thin clients support all VDI protocols, and can connect to all of the major brokers including Citrix XenDesktop, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware Horizon based on the organization’s VDI strategy and needs. The mobile thin clients are easy to deploy and manage via Wyse Device Manager to deliver over-the-air configuration and policy management, or via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. IT managers can scale administration from just a few to tens of thousands of mobile thin clients.

The mobile thin clients can be protected against threats and malware with Dell Data Protection Threat Defense, the threat prevention solution that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to proactively prevent malware including ransomware and zero day threats on all Windows thin clients. Finally, organizations can protect their investment with Dell Services and Support for Wyse Thin Clients, a portfolio featuring Deployment Services, Dell’s ProSupport servicev, and Accidental Damage Servicev for drops, falls and spills.

The Latitude E7270 and the Latitude 3460 will be available in the United States and select countries around the world starting October 4, 2016.
