Message Text: Twitter has been in talks with the popular audio sharing website SoundCloud, the Financial Times reported citing people familiar with the matter.

SoundCloud is a platform that enables people create accounts and upload, share promote their music.

The micro-blogging website has also considered buying music-streaming service Spotify and internet-radio provider Pandora Media Inc, the newspaper added.

Twitter's interest in music-streaming companies comes after Apple acquired Beats for $3 billion, as it seems to consider entering the music streaming market.

In the meantime, Twitter has agreed to buy Namo Media as oart of its efforts to bolster its reach in mobile advertising.

Twitter announced the acquisition in a blog post, without releasing financial terms of the deal.

"We have been working to bring native ads to mobile app publishers in order to create a more seamless and less intrusive ad experience for users," San Francisco-based Twitter said today.

Native advertising in a news application could look like a promoted story, or as a marketing message within a game.
