Message Text: Google has bought assets of Green Throttle Games, a firm that created gaming peripherals, in a move that could mean the searc giant is planning to develop a set-top TV box.

As part of the deal, two of Green Throttle Games' co-founders will reportedly join the search giant, according to Google.

U.S.-based Green Throttle Games produced a games controller that was able to connect to mobile devices wirelessly using Bluetooth. Users could grab such a controller and play games devices that had not any physical buttons, such as tablets and smartphones.

Google's move is another example that the company is trying to expand in new markets. A Google set-top TV box could be used to play games made for Google's mobile operating system, Android, on a large screen.

Amazon is also expected to launch a box before the end of the month.
