Samsung's next-generation Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone is expected to be released in Marc with a full HD AMOLED display, with a version with the QHD panel to follow.
Citing industry sources in Korea, etnews.com
reported
that Samsung initially planned to release both full HD and QHD Galaxy S5 models, but it appears the full HD will be released first as early as March, possibly due to difficulties in the optimization of the parts of the QHD display.
QHD is a resolution with 2560?1440 pixels (about 3.69 mega pixels). Samsung Display developed a 5.1-inch full HD AMOLED and QHD panel (576ppi) last year. It features a diamond pixel structure - the RG and BG pixels are positioned diagonally in the shape of diamond. Unlike the stripe type, there are only two subpixels.
It is predicted that the QHD version will be released a couple of months after the full HD version.
