 Toshiba Starts Mass Production of 1080p, 1.12 Micrometer, CMOS Image Sensor

Message Text: Toshiba's new 1.12?m, 1080p BSI CMOS image sensor with color noise reduction (CNR) will enter mass production next month in Japan.

First announced last March, the CMOS supports capturing of 1080p video at 60fps, allowing use in front cameras of mobile devices. The sensor integrates a CNR circuit and realizes a signal-to-noise ratio equal to Toshiba's equivalent products fabricated with 1.4µm pixel process.
