Message Text: Apple may has taken the mapping business seriously as the company has reportedly acquired Embark, which offers mass transit information of selected cities in Europe and the U.S.

The deal follows recent acquisitions of HopStop.com Inc. and Locationary Inc.in July. Apple has also acquired WiFiSLAM, a provider of indoor mapping application technology earlier this year.

Apple had been using Google maps in its iOS-based devices. However, the company's aggressive push into the mapping business is an evident that the company is focusing on improving own mapping application, which had been heavily criticized mainly due to inaccurate data.
