Message Text: Panasonic is cosidering withdrawing from plasma television operations as part of a downsizing of its television business, the Nikkei newspaper said on Monday.

Panasonic also planned to end plasma TV panel production at its main plant in Amagaskai in western Japan around fiscal year 2014, the Nikkei said, adding that the company had already written off the value of production equipment there.

In addition, the Japanese company may sell its healthcare business to raise cash. Panasonic was planning to sell the profitable healthcare business for about 100 billion yen, Kyodo reported, quoting industry sources.
