Message Text: It seems that Apple is ready to launch a new version of its Apple TV device, hot on the heels of the announcement of iOS 6.1 OS and the 128GB iPad tablet.

FCC documents have reveal a smaller revision of the Apple TV set-top box that measures about 3.69 inches squared, down from the current model's 3.9 inches. According to the documents, the device is a "digital media receiver with WiFi and Bluetooth radios."

Apple's recent update of Apple TV (Apple TV v5.2) also suggests that the box uses an upgraded Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, as well as an upgraded Apple A5X SoC rather than the A5 in the current model. The A5X features the same dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU and an upgraded the GPU to the quad-core PowerVR SGX543MP4 from Imagination Technologies.

Apple has yet to officially announce an updated Apple TV.
