Message Text: Bang & Olufsen debuts its first smart TV, BeoVision 11, aloing with a built-in sound system at the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show.

BeoVision 11 features an all-in-one entertainment and information hub for the entire family. The company has engineered a high-quality sonic experience that features six speakers into BeoVision 11's slim interior, and powers each of them with its own dedicated 32 watt ICEpower amplifier. Their enclosure is supported with rubber bushings to wipe out vibrations in the rest of the TV. A new digital signal-processing algorithm pulls it all together, and switches between dedicated sound modes when it detects music, sports, drama, movies, etc.

BeoVision 11 offers a full digital surround sound decoder module that delivers up to 12 audio channels using Bang & Olufsen's TrueImage processor. True Image technology dynamically handles up-and down-mixing of audio signals to match the number of audio channels in the incoming signal with the available loudspeakers.

At the heart of BeoVision 11 is an all-new video engine that drives the 240Hz LED-based LCD screen, with glare polarizer, in either 2D or 3D. The two-sided LED backlight features 1.5 D local dimming to improve contrast in 2D viewing.

Bang & Olufsen is introducing a number of other image improvement features with BeoVision 11:

- 360° Automatic Picture Control: Senses ambient light not only in front of the screen, but also behind it and to both sides, to continuously adjust brightness and contrast for optimal viewing comfort.

- Adaptive Contrast: Reveals detail in very dark scenes even when bright sunlight floods the screen.

- Dedicated picture modes for film and gaming: In addition to the default adaptive picture mode, these new modes provide gamers with fast responsiveness and film lovers with white balance just like the director set it.

BeoVision 11 is the first television to feature a Bang & Olufsen Smart TV, a new platform that lets you switch between television channels and the internet. There is also a Picture and Picture function where the viewer can watch both at the same time. Just connect your set to the internet, wirelessly or wired, and start enjoying web-based content on the big screen in seconds. Choose between popular apps such as YouTube and Facebook, or surf wherever else you want to go. You can even save bookmarks. Page navigation can be handled with the dedicated remote by Bang & Olufsen, or you can use your iPad or Android tablet - and the BeoRemote app - to take advantage of QWERTY keyboards.

Both of Bang & Olufsen's remotes, Beo4 and Beo6, provide simple control of all TV functions ? as well as any other connected device.

BeoVision 11 is a DLNA TV, which makes it simple to stream music from a smart phone and to watch a film stored on a NAS drive. In addition it provides connectivity to just about anything you want to throw at it through Wireless Network 2.4 or 5 GHz. Other connections include an Ethernet connection for software updates, two USB ports, three control outlets for control of up to six connected devices, and six HDMI sockets. Additionally, Apple aficionados will appreciate the dedicated space inside the cabinet for Apple TV.

BeoVision 11 is available in 40", 46" and 55". On sale now exclusively at Bang & Olufsen stores. Prices begin at $5,995

The Danish provider of high end audio and video products also today launched its latest built-in sound system. The integrated speaker solution is comprised of two-way active speakers (BeoLab 15), an active subwoofer (BeoLab 16) and a rack-ready amplifier (Amplifier 1) - all created specifically for in-wall or in-ceiling placement.

The new BeoLab 15/BeoLab 16 system builds on a broad spectrum of signature Bang & Olufsen capabilities to pack sound into unexpected places. The active speakers harness an array of high-end components to deliver expansive audio performance from very compact constructions. A motorized tilt function directs the sound where you want it when the speakers are on, then retreats to flush when no longer needed.

The new tilt function on BeoLab 15 lets you aim high and places middle tones right where you want them. Turn on the system, and the speaker automatically tilts out to pre-set angles to direct the sound for optimal listening. Turn off the system, and BeoLab 15 tilts back to flush position.

Each and every driver in the system's active speakers is powered by its own amplifier. This allows Bang & Olufsen to pack high-performing components into compact speaker cabinets that are easy to build into most walls ? and still sound great. The new system meets international building codes by keeping the amplifiers and speaker drivers separate. The cable compensation feature automatically calibrates all cables at distances up to 328 feet to ensure optimal bass performance.

BeoLab 15 is a closed-cabinet, two-way active speaker with a 3/4 " tweeter and a 3" midrange, featuring tilt functionality for directing sound up to 45° from the default flush position.

BeoLab 16, the system's active subwoofer, comprises two pairs of 4" woofers in separate sealed cabinets, played in-phase using the Acoustic Balance Principle to enable deep bass without unwanted wall vibrations.

Amplifier 1 contains six separate amplifiers. Two Class D units rated at 2 x 150 watts power up the subwoofer. Each BeoLab 15 gets 150 watts for the midrange, and 45 watts for the tweeter. Adaptive Bass Linearization keeps the deep bass cultivated and crisp all the way down to 45 Hz.

The circular design is discreet but distinct. When switched off, the speakers and subwoofer are flush with the wall, and all you notice is the subtle geometrical composition by designer Anders Hermansen. Turn the music on, and the speakers' motorized tilt function magically directs sound where you want it for amazing acoustic performance. The speakers are available in matt aluminium, with fabric covers in either white or black. The subwoofer is in matt aluminum.

The new BeoLab 15, BeoLab 16 and Amplifier 1 sound solution is available at selected Bang & Olufsen stores from January 2013. Priced at $4595 for the entire solution - pair of BeoLab 15 speakers, BeoLab 16 and the Amplifier 1.
