Message Text: Samsung Electronics said supplier HTNS Shenzhen Co. hasn't employed underage workers, dismissing claims raised by a labor-rights group.

Samsung said it holds itself and its supplier companies to the highest standards and maintains a zero tolerance policy on child labor. "We have confirmed that there are no underage workers employed at our supplier, HTNS Shenzhen Co., Ltd.," the company said.

China Labor Watch (CLW) on Fiday announced it has discovered child labor in a factory called HTNS Shenzhen Co., Ltd.. The labor-rights group added that it found at least three girls who were under the age of 16 working to the factory, which is the legal definition of child labor in China.

CLW's Executive Director Li Qiang accused Samsung audits in protecting its workers' labor rights as ineffective.

On the other hand, Samsung claims that it conducted an investigation into the matter included a meeting on December 14, 2012 with the alleged underage employee currently working at this supplier. Samsung says that a representative from China Labor Watch was present at this meeting, in which she was confirmed as being of legal age.

Samsung also confirmed that two other alleged underage employees - who are no longer with this supplier - were of legal age when hired.

Samsung added that it would terminate any contracts with suppliers who employ underage workers .
