Message Text: Japan Display Inc. (JDI) has announced a ULMT (Ultra-Light Media Tablet) series of LCD modules for tablet applications.

The lineup includes: a 7.0-inch (17.8cm) WXGA (800x1280 pixel) module, a 9.0-inch (22.9cm) WXGA (800x1280 pixel) module, and a 10.1-inch (25.7cm) WUXGA (1920x1200 pixel) module.

JDI started mass production of the 10.1-inch module earlier this month in October, joining the 7.0-inch panel which has been in production since February, 2012. The 9.0-inch panel is now available for sampling.

The 10.1-inch LCD IPS display is thin (2.14mm) and lightweight (130g), meaning it can be used in tablet designs. JDI said it would outsource the manufacturing of the new display, depending on the demand.

JDI will demonstrate this new series of displays at FPD International Japan 2012, held October 31 through November 2, 2012, in Pacifico Yokohama, Yokohama, Japan.
