 Foxconn Getting Ready For Apple iTV Production

Message Text: While the release of Apple TV remains nothing more than a rumor, but Foxconn's CEO Terry Gou said that the company is getting ready for iTV.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd, also known as Foxconn, Apple's main manufacturer, is moving to new headquarters in Shanghai, construction of which started on Thursday. During a news conference in Shanghai, Terry Gou, chief of Foxconn, said that Foxconn was "making preparations" for Apple's iTV high-definition television, although development or manufacturing has yet to begin.

According to a China Daily report, the TV features an aluminum construction, Siri, and FaceTime video calling. Foxconn's recent 50-50 joint venture factory with Sharp in Japan is one of the preparations made for the new device, Gou added.

Foxconn's new headquarters in Shanghai is expcted to help the company spearhead its efforts to sell more in the China market. The company plans for its headquarters in Shanghai to offer services that will complement its push in the consumer electronics retail market and e-commerce, Gou said.
