Message Text: Microsoft's search engine Bing surprisingly scored higher than Google in terms of accuracy of the query results, according to an Experian Hitwise research.

According to the research, Bing and Yahoo Search powered by Bing achieved a success rate of 81 percent for January 2011. This means that for both search engines, 81 percent of searches executed resulted in a visit to a Website. Google, managed only a 65 percent success rate. Both of those figures are unchanged from December 2010.

The result could be used by Microsoft in order to defend Bing's reputation against Google's recent accusations that Bing steals Google's search results.

According to the same research, Google accounted for 67.95 percent of all U.S. searches conducted in the four weeks ending Jan. 29, 2011. Bing-powered search comprised 27.44 percent of searches for the month, with Yahoo! Search and Bing receiving 14.62 percent and 12.81 percent, respectively. The remaining 70 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis report accounted for 4.61 percent of U.S. searches.
