LG Introduces New All-in-one Streaming Home Theater System

LG Electronics today unveiled a new SoundPlate - a combination speaker system and Blu-ray Disc player with Smart TV capability that delivers enhanced audio in one compact design.

The LAB540W is equipped with a 4.1 channel, 320W sound system, and an external wireless subwoofer that augments TV speakers to create a virtual surround effect. It also features a built-in 3D Blu-ray Disc player along with LG Smart TV functionality, offering access to streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus and more.

Only about 1.5 inches tall, this device can act as a base for a variety of 32- to 55-inch class TVs. Users can wirelessly stream music to the LAB540W from a compatible smart phone or tablet via Bluetooth.

The LAB540W SoundPlate is available now for $599 at select U.S. retailers.
