LG To Add Fingerprint Recognition Function to Smartphones


LG Electronics olans to apply fingerprint recognition function to its premium smartphones to be released this year.

Etnews.com reported today that LG's Advance Development Team has been developing fingerprint recognition technology targeting premium smartphones, including the G2 and the G3 models. It is likely that the technology will be applied in the format of swiping at the back of phone as in Pantech?s Vega Secret Note.

LG had pushed back development schedule of the fingerprint function last year, due to low production yield of the fingerprint recognition module.

Apple's iPhone 5S and Pantech's Vega Secret Note smartphones are already featuring fingerprint recognition functions.
