Xbox One Launches Worldwide

Xbox One hit store shelves and became available online Friday, bringing new games, live TV, Skype, sports, fitness, music and more to one single device, all available at the command of your voice, powered by Kinect and Bing.

Xbox One is available now in 13 markets worldwide, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland and Austria.

The new-generation Kinect offers improved voice and motion control, responding to your commands and gestures.

Xbox One also brings exclusive games lineup, including "Forza Motorsport 5," "Dead Rising 3," "Ryse: Son of Rome," "Killer Instinct" and "Zoo Tycoon." In addition, third-party blockbusters will be available on Xbox One with early exclusivity for downloadable content in "Call of Duty: Ghosts," "FIFA 14," "Battlefield 4" and more. The release of "Titanfall," "Project Spark" and "Sunset Overdrive" is also expected in 2014.

This is the full list of Xbox One games available Friday:

  • "Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag" (Ubisoft, Ubisoft)
  • "Battlefield 4" (DICE, Electronic Arts)
  • "Call of Duty: Ghosts" (Infinity Ward, Activision)
  • "Crimson Dragon" (Grounding/Land Ho!, Microsoft Studios)
  • "Dead Rising 3" (Capcom Vancouver, Microsoft)
  • "FIFA 14" (EA Sports, Electronic Arts)
  • "Fighter Within" (AMA Ltd., Ubisoft)
  • "Forza Motorsport 5" (Turn 10 Studios, Microsoft Studios)
  • "Just Dance2014" (Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft)
  • "Killer Instinct" (Double Helix, Microsoft Studios)
  • "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes" (TT Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment)
  • "LocoCycle" (Twisted Pixel, Microsoft Studios)
  • "Madden NFL 25" (EA Sports, Electronic Arts)
  • "NBA 2K14" (Visual Concepts, 2K)
  • "NBA LIVE 14" (EA Sports, Electronic Arts)
  • "Need for Speed Rivals" (Ghost Games, Electronic Arts)
  • "Powerstar Golf " (Zoe Mode, Microsoft Studios)
  • "Ryse: Son of Rome" (Crytek, Microsoft Studios)
  • "Skylanders SWAP Force" (Vicarious Visions, Activision)
  • "Xbox Fitness" (Microsoft Studios)
  • "Zoo Tycoon" (Frontier Developments Microsoft Studios)
  • "Zumba Fitness World Party" (Zo? Mode, Majesco)

  • Thanks to the power of the cloud, the multiplayer experience has evolved to include features such as Smart Match, which finds the perfect match for you and is supported by a new community-powered reputation system. Starting with "Xbox Record That," you can also record, edit and share your favorite gaming moments through Game DVR and Upload Studio. Xbox Live Gold Membership also transfers over from Xbox 360.

Xbox One's architecture means you no longer have to choose between your games and entertainment. You will get multiplayer alerts while you watch TV, and keep watching TV while you play. Snap your NFL fantasy football stats next to the game. Jump from a game to TV, movies, fitness, music, sports, the Internet and Skype video chat with the sound of your voice. With Xbox One, you never have to stop playing to talk to a friend, surf the Web or watch live TV. You also have access to a new generation of TV experiences, and starting in the U.S. and coming to many markets soon, OneGuide will allow you to access your favorite shows, channels, apps or games with the Bing natural language voice search.

Xbox One sells for $499.99 (ERP) in the U.S., and Microsoft says quantities are limited.

Its competitor, Sony's PlayStation 4, is priced at US$399 and achieved sales of one million units on the first day of release.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is rumored to launch a new version of Xbox One in the first quarter of 2014, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
