Sony to Charge Users For or Multiplayer Games On PS4: report


Sony will charge a monthly fee of $9.99 in the United States and €6.99 ($9.40) in Europe for playing multiplayer online games on its PlayStation 4 console scheduled to debut this month, the Nikkei business daily reported.

Multiplayer games can be played for free on PlayStation 3.

The fee for Jpan -based gamers will be 500 yen ($5.00) a month, the Nikkei said.

Sony will also continue to offer its online multiplayer games service at an annual membership fee of $49.99 or less than $5 a month.

Sony also today announced that cumulative sales of the PlayStation 3 (PS3) computer entertainment system has reached a milestone of 80 million units worldwide as of November 2, 2013.
