Apple Close To iRadio Service Announcement

Apple's highly rumored Pandora-like Internet radio service could be unveiled as early as next week, according to the latest reports.

Apple is reportedly pushing to complete licensing deals with music companies for its service, the New York Tiies reported on Sunday, citing people briefed on the talks.

Apple?s service would tailor streams of music to each user?s taste.

Apple has been negotiating with record labels and music publishers in order to come up with a deal that would allow for low royalty rates and not guaranteed minimum payments.

The paper reported that Apple has signed a deal with Warner Music Group, while it i still in talks with Sony Music Entertainment and Sony/ATV. Apple has already signed a deal with the Universal Music Group for its recorded music rights, but not for music publishing.
