Nokia Lumia 928 Brings PureView to Verizon

The highly anticipated Nokia Lumia 928, Nokia's new Windows 8 smartphone, is coming exclusively for Verizon Wireless.

Nokia describes its latest Windows Phone 8 as an "imaging king", offering everything you need to capture summer memories as they unfold.

The Nokia Lumia 928 features Nokia's powerful PureView imaging technology, including Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which alows you to easily capture blur-free pictures and videos every time, even in low-light. Along with OIS, the Nokia Lumia 928 features an 8.7MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens - and photo buffs will love that a xenon flash is on board.

To go along with the imaging capabilities of the Nokia Lumia 928, Nokia has built in three high-audio-amplitude-capture (HAAC) microphones to make sure you can capture high-end audio even in the noisiest environments. With the loudspeakers, you can record and play back the sound just like you first heard it, all the way up to 140db. These features shine when using Vyclone, a new app for Windows Phone that lets you co-create, sync and edit multiple views of a shared moment.

The front of the Nokia Lumia 928 is dominated by a 4.5-inch OLED display covered by Gorilla Glass that extends all the way to the edge of the phone.

For added convenience, the Nokia Lumia 928 features wireless charging built-in. Simply place your phone on the Nokia Wireless Charging Pillow by Fatboy, JBL PlayUp or one of Nokia's other wireless charging accessories and power up.

The software and services available out of the box with the Nokia Lumia 928 include the HERE Suite of location services (HERE Maps, HERE Drive+ and HERE City Lens), Nokia Music with Mix Radio, along with 145,000 apps in the Windows Phone store, Internet Explorer 10 and Microsoft Office mobile. Digital camera lenses and apps include Smart Shoot, Cinemagraph, Panorama, and Photobeamer.

The Lumia 928 is coming in white or black at Verizon Wireless stores and online beginning Thursday, May 16 for USD99 after a USD50 mail-in rebate, with a new two-year customer agreement. For a limited time, get a USD25 credit for Windows Phone apps and games with the purchase of a Nokia Lumia 928.

Also available through Verizon Wireless is a range of Nokia wireless charging accessories: the JBL PowerUp Wireless Charging Speaker for Nokia, Nokia Wireless Charging Plate DT-900 and the Nokia Wireless Charging Pillow by Fatboy DT-901.
