5-inch HTC Butterfly Smartphone Releases in Taiwan

HTC on Tuesday unveiled HTC Butterfly, a new smartphone boasting a higher resolution display than the iPhone 5.

Already announced as "J Butterfly" in Japan, the smartphone features a full 1080p HD Super LCD 3 screen with a resolution of 440 ppi and it is powered by the quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon chip and 2GB of RAM.

In addition an ImageSense-enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera along with Beats Audio rounds out the package.

HTC and Apple reached a global patent settlement last month.
