Symmetry Electronics To Promote AMD's Embedded Products

AMD is trying to expand its presence in the embedded market with a global distribution agreement with Symmetry Electronics, a distributor of digital signage, industrial control, automotive, manufacturing and machine-to-machine technologies.

Symmetry Electronics will immediately begin to promote, sell and support the full line of AMD embedded products including the newest family of AMD Embedded R-Series accelerated processing units (APUs).

AMD claims that its Embedded G-Series and R-Series accelerated processing units combine the analytical and control functions in a CPU with the graphical computations done by a GPU into a single device, eliminating bottlenecks created by the serial data bus that connects the two devices.
