CyberLink Announces Video Camera App for Windows 8

CyberLink today launched YouCam Mobile - a touch-optimized camera application for portable Windows 8 devices.

YouCam Mobile provides users with an interface for capturing photos and videos. It also features editing, effects and sharing tools so users can personalize and liven up their media before uploading it to YouTube, Facebook or Flickr.

Along with editing tools, including photo cropping, rotation and video trimming, YouCam Mobile also features a range of particle effects, distortions and animations that can be applied to media in real time. Additionally, enhancements to image quality can be made using CyberLink's TrueTheater technology to improve the appearance of photos and videos.

The application's tools and filters also make it easy for users to navigate through their photos. For example, Calendar View uses the timecode stamped on digital media files to automatically sort content into a calendar according to the date that the media was created, while a face tagging feature automatically groups photos together based on who appears in them.

YouCam Mobile is available now on the Windows Store.
