Amazon And Epix Enter Movie Deal

Today, Amazon and EPIX announced a multi-year licensing agreement in the U.S., which will add thousands of new releases, classic library titles and original programs to Prime Instant Video.

The deal, announced on Tuesday, will mean that Prime Instant Video subscribers can have access to movies from Epix studio partners - Viacom's Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.

The agreement comes as Epix 2010 deal with Netflix, which pays $200 million a year for the rights to stream movies to its U.S. customers expires in September.

The agreement doubles the number of titles available to more than 25,000 movies.

Prime Instant Video offers Prime members access to more than 25,000 movies and TV episodes to instantly stream and enjoy at no additional cost on Kindle Fire or any of the hundreds of compatible devices, including Roku, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 gaming console and the newest addition, iPad.
