Google Chrome and Drive Available For Your iPhone and iPad

Google's Chrome browser along with cloud-based service Drive can now be used on the iPhone and iPad.

The Chrome application released Thursday is Google's attempt to supplant Apple 's own Safari browser. In addition, the app comes a month after Yahoo released a browser called Axis for the iPhone and iPad.

Chrome for iPhone and iPad allows users to enjoy speedy web browsing across their devices and by signing in to Chrome, they can move from their desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets and have all of their stuff with them.

Google also announced that its Drive service, which lets people store and share documents, will now work on iOS devices as well. New capabilities of Drie include offline edditing of Google dosuments. With the Drive app, users can open PDFs, photos, videos, documents and anything else stored in their Drive while they're on the go. For blind and low-vision users, the app also works in VoiceOver mode.

Google also revealed Thursday that Chrome now has 310 million active users, up from 160 million a year ago.
