G-Technology TO Showcase Fast Storage at IBC 2011

At IBC 2011, G-Technology by Hitachi will be showcasing its latest products for SD, HD, 2K, or 4K post production workflows for Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, and other software.

Designed with aluminum enclosures, fast interfaces and reliable hard drives, the new storage products are aimed at content creation professionals.

Product previews and demonstrations available at G-Technology's IBC stand will include:

- G-CONNECT - Wireless Storage with Internet Access for iPad

G-CONNECT provides portable wireless storage for your Apple iPad and iPhone and other mobile devices so you can take more content with you wherever you go. G-CONNECT provides access to five+ simultaneous devices and can support up to five SD or three HD wireless video streams at once. When connected via Ethernet, G-CONNECT creates a WiFi hotspot for shared Internet access, all from one device. USB 2.0 provides a fast way to load content from a computer or laptop to the G-CONNECT wireless storage solution. iPad and iPhone apps will be available in the App Store for quick access to your content. Password protection means your content is safe. The G-CONNECT wireless storage solution will be available in Europe later this year.

- Thunderbolt Technology - Faster, Simpler, More Flexible Device Interconnect

G-Technology is showing its support for Thunderbolt at IBC. Developed by Intel and brought to market with collaboration from Apple, Thunderbolt is more than just another high-speed cable. Thunderbolt comes with dual channel, 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) performance and simultaneous support for PCIe and DisplayPort protocols over a single cable.

- G-SPEED eS Pro - Super-Fast, Enterprise-Class Solution

Among other demos, G-Technology will be showcasing its G-SPEED eS Pro solutions with the ATTO ExpressSAS R680 6Gb/s SAS/SATA RAID adapter. With capacities up to 8TB in a four-bay enclosure, G-Technology's G-SPEED eS Pro offers high-speed, low-cost RAID designed specifically for professional content creation applications. When two G-SPEED eS Pros are connected to an ATTO ExpressSAS card it delivers speeds exceeding 1,000MB second, easily supporting two simultaneous streams of uncompressed 10-bit HD or a single 2K DPX sequence. Coupled with the ATTO ExpressSAS R680, the G-SPEED eS Pro is a cost-effective desktop RAID storage solution designed specifically for high-end post. All G-SPEED products feature enterprise-class, 7,200 RPM hard drives that are specifically designed, manufactured and tested to meet the increased demands on RAID video editing systems.
