New Family of HDTV Monitors by Samsung

Samsung announced today the addition of HDTV monitors to its recently launched family of "Touch of Color" (ToC) desktop monitors.

The new HDTV monitors T220HD, T240HD, and T260HD provide HDTV content through a built-in digital ATSC/QAM. They offer front and rear HDMI connections and a 5ms video response time. The T240HD and T260HD offer a 1080p full-HD experience. The crystal like bezel frame reduces the reflection of light, reducing glare while sitting on a swiveling stand to provide for optimum screen positioning.

Enhanced picture quality features include a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1, 16:10 aspect ratio and connections for multiple device peripherals including gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, and digital cameras.

ToC HDTV monitors use approximately half the normal wattage of other monitors by reducing the number of backlight lamps and moving them only to the edges. Samsung?s brightness enhanced film is used to make up for the reduced number of backlights focusing the light and increasing overall monitor efficiency and reducing power consumption.

Sound functionality is provided by Dolby Digital Surround (3Wx2Ch) speakers and optical digital sound (5.1 channel) outputs.

The monitors are available for the following prices:

- HDTV Monitor T220 HD: $429
- HDTV Monitor T240 HD: $549
- HDTV Monitor T260 HD: $599
