I got this drive from newegg... happend to be shorted out, sent it back, got a new one from them.

--Now that I finally have the drive.... I havn't BURNT one single thing.

everytime I try to burn "ANYTHING" it will freeze... I've tried using several programs to burn data cds

NTI
Nero 6+

Looking on this drive, it has a long history of problems.
Now I don't want to call it a dead drive....

So please someone help me here, what should I do in order to fix this.

any program freezes when trying to write, doesn't even make it past like 1%

Is it SLAVE or MASTER drive, what IDE chanel, what OS, what FIRMWARE, are ASPI installed, did you try different medias ?

What is your motherboard?

MOtherboard= soyo dragon +
Os= Windows Xp corp
Firmware= BYS2
IDE= ide100 attached to the hardrive ( same IDE cable )
I don't know what ASPI drivers it is

anyone more questions, i'll answer, i really want to fix this!

did not try different medias, should not need any, it does them all.

my media is
"verbatim dvd+r" 16x
