Concerning Red Alert 2 expansion, Yuri's Revenge, it uses SD2 copy protection, however, after creating a working backup, I cannot network the game on my 2 pc's; it looks at the s/n and doesn't allow it. Is this legal? Am I supposed to pay ANOTHER 30 USD before my wife and I can play this game? I purchased the CD solely for that purpose. Other games, for instance Total Annihilation Kingdoms, allows you to play as many LAN games as you want from a single CD. In fact, as long as you select the network option and not the single player, you don't even need the CD in the drive. I'm thinking there's a massive amount of greed taking place here.

Sorry don't know about this. Why you don't email the manufacturer of the game and complain?

If i have understood correctly, you created a working backup which cannot be played in your PC while you ran the original CD on a second PC in your LAN. I suppose the only way to check it is to borrow a second original CD and test if it can work.

Thanks for the responce, I suppose a complaint can't hurt any :-)
I believe the major problem lies in the fact that the smaller gaming companies, such as cavedog, who were out to give gamers their money's worth, are getting swallowed by the larger, cold-hearted corporations, whose bottom line is the bottom dollar.
